Carters Beach, David's going away party

The wooden seal statue on the domain of Carter's Beach. This statue also happens to stand at the end of our street leading to the beach. There is a large seal colony about 13km away from us at Tauranga Bay.

The west coast is undergoing constant erosion from ever present rain, wind and water from the sea. This is another section of Carter's Beach showing erosion in process.

One of the first friends we made here in Westport was David Itswing, a GP from South Africa. Sadly, he and his wife, Nonhlanhla, decided to return to South Africa just one month after we got here. We are at Portabello's Restaurant in this photo with another GP, Stu Mologne, on the far left, then David, Rob, Rina and Nonhlanhla.
