Abel Tasman Sea Kayaking

The coastline of the Abel Tasman. We kayaked for 3 days on the initially calm Tasman sea but by the last day. . . Well, "the sea was angry that day my friends."


A nice clear, sunny and warm day for kayaking in the middle of winter.


On Tonga island, we saw shags (cormorants), adult fur seals and baby fur seals. The baby seals were in a protected shallow pool rolling around and performing back and front flips all over each other. It looked like they were having a blast.

After setting up camp, we had time to relax at Te Pukatea Bay.
